Pixel Kingdom Wars is set in a fantasy world of eight realms, from the green meadows of Crownlands to the frozen spruce of Frostveil and the lava rivers of Cinderfall. Every Land Deed sits on a tile in one realm, and every base is dressed in its realm's ground, trees, farms, water, creatures and landmarks.

Quick facts

  • Eight realms: Crownlands, Frostveil, Elderwood, Sunscar, Cinderfall, Thornwake, Stormcairn and Solana Reach.
  • 85,414 tiles in all: 79,832 ordinary tiles you can buy as Land Deeds, plus 5,582 tiles reserved in Solana Reach — 2,000 Genesis and 3,582 Seeker tiles.
  • One base per tile. Your deed's realm is part of its public traits.
  • Themed bases. Each realm has its own complete kit: ground, trees, a farm, water with a quay, roaming creatures and a landmark.
  • One resource each, with onchain gameplay. Every realm gets its own raw resource and the material refined from it — see realm resources.
  • Looks only. A realm never changes building sizes, where attackers may deploy, how much your Mines produce or how a battle resolves.
  • Islands. Seven chains of islands lie off the coasts. They cannot be owned. Three special islands — Seeker Island, Solana Island and the Divine Isle — are part of onchain gameplay: Seeker Island comes first, and the other two follow later; see Islands.
  • Raids are instant. Distance on the map never delays or limits an attack.

Exploring the world

In the browser and in the Android app, the world is the Realms Globe, a painted globe, and each realm opens into its own realm map:

  1. Globe. Spin the world and pick a realm. The realm you are over glows along its coast.
  2. Enter the map. You land on a live overview of the whole realm in its own sea, with gentle motion on the water and its kingdoms marked; zoom in to see their names.
  3. Zoom in. Detail sharpens as you go: first the map, then the true base-scale kit with every tree and farm. Shielded kingdoms show a dome.
  4. Zoom out past the whole realm to return to the globe.

The eight realms

Crownlands

The heart of the world and the realm most kingdoms call home. Temperate meadows, a windmill over the wheat, a cliff waterfall feeding a river and a lake with a quay. When the fantasy world arrived, every existing Land Deed moved to central Crownlands.

  • Farm: wheat fields and a windmill.
  • Water: a cliff waterfall, a river and a lake with a quay.
  • Creatures: cows, deer, foxes, goats, ducks and gulls.
  • Landmarks: a watchtower ruin and a fair camp.
  • Realm resource (coming with onchain gameplay): Crown Iron Ore, refined at the Workshop into Crownsteel. See realm resources.

Frostveil

Snowfields, ice-blue water and deep-green spruce heavy with snow. Reindeer graze by a smokehouse, and a longship waits at an icebound quay.

A base in Frostveil in the current game: sandstone walls and defences on snow, among snow-laden spruce and frosted boulders
Fig. 8Frostveil in the current game.
  • Farm: a reindeer paddock, fish-drying racks and a smokehouse.
  • Water: a glacier cliff with a half-frozen fall, and a frozen pier.
  • Creatures: reindeer, arctic foxes, snow hares, wolves, moose and seals.
  • Landmarks: glowing rune stones, a frost-rimed watchtower and a steaming hot spring.
  • Realm resource (coming with onchain gameplay): Frost Quartz, refined at the Workshop into Frostglass. See realm resources.

Elderwood

An ancient forest of giant roots and deep shade, where beehives hum in a forester's garden and fireflies drift at dusk.

A base in Elderwood in the current game: walls and defences on mossy ground, hemmed in by broad oaks, mossy boulders and forester's huts
Fig. 9Elderwood in the current game.
  • Farm: herb beds, beehives, an orchard and a woodcutter's yard.
  • Water: falls from a mossy root ledge and a root jetty.
  • Creatures: stags, badgers, boars, hedgehogs, red squirrels and owls.
  • Landmarks: a druid circle with glowing runes and a hollow-tree shrine.
  • Realm resource (coming with onchain gameplay): Heartwood Logs, refined at the Workshop into Heartwood Beams. See realm resources.

Sunscar

Golden desert, sandstone mesas and a turquoise oasis. A caravan road runs east over a bridge, and a felucca rides at the reed quay.

A base in Sunscar in the current game: walls and defences on golden sand, with palms, sandstone boulders and a paved caravan road
Fig. 10Sunscar in the current game.
  • Farm: a palm grove watered by irrigation channels and a shadoof well.

  • Landmarks: ruined temple columns, an obelisk and a sun shrine.
  • Realm resource (coming with onchain gameplay): Sunstone Rubble, refined at the Workshop into Sunstone Blocks. See realm resources.

Cinderfall

Ash fields and black basalt, with a river of lava where other realms have water. An iron-prowed boat is moored at the obsidian quay on the lava lake.

A base in Cinderfall in the current game: walls and defences on grey ash, among charred dead trees, black boulders and a basalt road
Fig. 11Cinderfall in the current game.

  • Landmarks: a basalt column ring, a burnt watchtower and a dragon skull.
  • Realm resource (coming with onchain gameplay): Ember Nodules, refined at the Workshop into Embercore. See realm resources.

Thornwake

Jungle, red mud and mossy temple stone. A great waterfall crashes into a river crossing the realm, and canoes wait at a stilt dock.

A base in Thornwake in the current game: walls and defences on jungle grass, surrounded by palms, broad jungle trees and fallen logs
Fig. 12Thornwake in the current game.
  • Farm: rice terraces, a stilt granary and banana and mango rows.

  • Realm resource (coming with onchain gameplay): Thorn Fibre, refined at the Workshop into Thornsilk. See realm resources.

Stormcairn

Wind-swept heather moor above a cold sea. Sea stacks rise off the coast, a lighthouse guards the stone harbour, and highland cattle graze the croft.

A base in Stormcairn in the current game: walls and defences on heather moor, among wind-bent pines, grey boulders and tree stumps
Fig. 13Stormcairn in the current game.

Solana Reach

Slate, violet crystal and luminous teal pools. Moon hares and void foxes roam a crystal garden, and a sleek boat with a teal sail waits at the crystal-lit quay.

The Solana Reach realm map in the game: a violet-and-teal land of crystal forests, lilac peaks and pale rivers on its own navy sea, with no kingdoms
Fig. 14The Solana Reach realm map. No base stands here yet: its tiles are reserved.

  • Water: a crystal spring and luminous pools.
  • Creatures: moon hares, void foxes, glow lizards and koi.
  • Landmarks: a monolith ring and a ruined observatory.
  • Realm resource (coming with onchain gameplay): Rough Prism, refined at the Workshop into Prismstone Lens. See realm resources.
  • Nearby special islands: Solana Island lies off its western shore and Seeker Island in the open sea to its east. See Islands.

Islands

Seven chains of islands lie off the realm coasts: ice fortresses, volcanoes, lagoons, sandstone basins, violet craters and coral reefs. They cannot be owned and nobody can build on them. Today they are scenery you can inspect on the map; with onchain gameplay they become the destinations of your expeditions.

Seven islands, one from each chain: a lagoon with waterfalls, an ice fortress, a volcano, a mossy ruin, a sandstone basin, a violet crater and a coral hook

Three special islands arrive with onchain gameplay and are already visible on the Realms Globe, in the browser and in the Android app, marked as coming soon. Their sites can't be owned like a realm tile: each is a temporary right for one term.
